The Peninsula in Hawaii Kai - Honolulu Real Estate
Hawaii Kai Peninsula is a gated community with a combination of 630 single and family homes, townhouses, and condominiums. This community is located on the eastern side of Hawaii Kai near Koko Crater. It was the last waterfront community to be built (built in 2006 by Stanford Carr Development, Inc) in the area. There is nearly one mile of homes that have views of the water and the marina is at every turn.
The Peninsula is divided into two sections. The first section is located at 520 Lunalilo Home Road and is located within the marina. The other section is 580 Lunalilo Home Road and most homes here sit on a broad expanse of the waterfront.
Like any other gated community in Oahu, residents have the opportunity to use several amenities. There are several things residents are able to put to good use in this community. For instance, a meeting or party room is available, BBQ areas with picnic tables, park space, exercise room, two pools that also have spas, a wading pool, and boat docks located in the marina. There are also pavilions, gazebos, a tot park, and a marina promenade that residents can use at any time. The area is also very pet friendly. Many of the owners who walk their dogs everyday know everyone else’s dogs.
There are multiple types of homes available so buyers can feel free to be choosy. Condominiums come as detached and attached. Many of the homes in the area are small cottages. There are plenty of walkways between homes, which are great for those who do not own a vehicle. The area is really friendly so residents should feel free to stroll in safety. Many homes in this community will also provide a great view of the ocean or the mountains or both.
The homes in this area sell between $500,000 and $900,000. The most expensive homes tend to be the villas and condominiums, while the cheapest homes are usually the cottages and townhomes. There are also a few apartment complexes for those would prefer to rent a place for a while.
There are several choices to choose from in the Peninsula. Anyone looking for a friendly community by the water would not go wrong choosing from a home here. There are a number of different styles and sizes. Most of the community stays sold so if someone was thinking about calling this area home, they should start keeping an eye on the Hawaii Kai real estate market.

Hawaii Relocation
Hawaii is the youngest state in the United States. It joined the union in 1959. It is the only state to be made up primarily of islands. The Hawaiian Islands because of their location are a vibrant mix of North American, Asian, and native cultures. It comprises most of the Hawaiian volcanic chain that consists of hundreds of islands that are spread out thousands of miles. The main eight islands, however, are Hawaii or The Big Island, Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Kohoolawe, and Maui.
Each island has its own majestic history that has turned them into what they are today. Many of the islands were once settled by Hawaiian royalty. Several of them were named after the sons of Hawaiiloa, who discovered the islands. Many if not all of the islands were home to flourishing sugar, taro, or coffee plantations. Each provides its own beautiful sceneries as well as indulging in living in paradise.
Kauai is the oldest of the islands and is also located the most North. It has plenty of agriculture wonders, and some of the area is not allowed to be inhabited to protect the natural beauty of the island. Its most popular tourist destinations are the resorts of Poipu and Kapa’a. Many people who choose to find permanent residency on this island do so because of the many remote areas as well as the beautiful views.
Oahu is home to Honolulu, the state’s capitol. It is also the prime island tourists choose to visit. Much of the windward side is devoted to tourism. However, other parts of the island including the North Shore, which does get its own notoriety of travellers due to excellent surfing, has more of a country way of life. Homes on Oahu are around the most expensive in the state.
Molokai is different from many of the other islands. It is almost entirely inhabited by Native Hawaiians and has held on to its rich history. It is a great place to come to for an outdoor adventure or just to feel the calming of a simpler way of life.
Lanai is the sixth largest of the islands and is home to plentiful pineapple plantations. There is only one small town on the island, Lanai City. It is not called “The Most Secluded Island” for just any reason. Many people come to this island particular for romantic getaways.
Maui is the second largest island. It has more spectacular beaches than probably any of the other islands. It has the third largest population out of all the islands. Although it is a densely populated area there are still many small residential areas that overlook the best oceans and enjoy a more laid back way of life.
The Big Island or Hawaii is the largest out of the islands. It is the second most populated just behind Oahu, but is also the least densely populated island. It is possible to experience almost every climate at some point on the island. This island is so large it offers just about everything: resorts, golf courses, numerous historic sites, and many places for residents to find a home.
Niihau is the seventh largest of the islands. It is the home of an endangered bird species. The island is actually privately owned and is generally off limits to everyone but relatives. This gave the island its nickname “The Forbidden Isle”.
The last of the eight islands is Kahoolawe. It is also the smallest. This island has always been sparsely populated due to the lack of fresh water. The island probably only averages 65 inches of rain a year because of its elevation and location to the trade winds. Today the island is only used for Native Hawaiian spiritual, cultural, and subsistence purposes.
Makakilo Real Estate - beautiful scenery of the mountainside and beaches
Makakilo is a residential area in the Ewa District on the island of Oahu. In the Hawaiian language, maka kilo means “observing eyes”. It is located at the south end of the Wai’anae mountain range above the city Kapolei.
The area sits at a higher elevation than other parts of the island so it gets to experience a cooler and breezier environment than areas that sit lower down. Many people that live here have homes that sit farther off from the ocean but still have spectacular views of the Pacific.
There are 13,158 people who live in Makakilo, making it the eighteenth largest community in Hawaii. New Makakilo real estate is being added to serve the ever growing population. The area has been building since 1959. There are a variety of single-family homes, condos, and townhouses available with a mixture of older and newer ones to choose from.

The first housing district, Kai Lani, is on the right when first entering the resort. It is across from the new Disney resort, Aulani and sits next to the Ted Robinson 18-Hole Championship golf course. They are located in the perimeter of the golf course and are all fairway lots. The rest of the community is comprised of additional 6 unit buildings and a community pool. There is a walking trail that leads to the community pro shop and the first tee box of the golf course.
The Fairways are built along the perimeter of the golf course. These units are offered in various sizes and overlook the golf course. These are reasonably priced. Also towards the same end of the resort are the Hillside Villas. They provide a relaxed and great way of life.
The last area of the resort is The Beach Villas at Ko Olina. They are located on the second of Ko Olina’s four signature lagoons. Models range from 1,100 to 1,500 square feet and come in 2 and 3 bedrooms.
The Ko Olina Resort is a world class place to live. Some owners only use their homes for part of the year but find a market for renting their homes out the rest of the year. Owners have the options of adding several types of amenities to their individual homes. Not to mention each community comes with additional bonuses such as pools, shops, and ways to relax and enjoy paradise. Ka Olina is the way Hawaii should be enjoyed.
Kaimuki Real Estate - Hawaiian family lifestyle
Kaimuki is a residential area in Honolulu, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. It is in an urbanized region near Kahala and Diamond Head. The area was once an ostrich farm then a carnation farm for funeral flowers. It is now a residential area with a small district area. It is one of Honolulu’s oldest neighborhoods.
The name Kaimuki means “the ti root oven” in the Hawaiian language. It was named this because Kaimuki used to be home to many ovens responsible for baking ti roots into a sweet food similar to candy.
Because homes in Kaimuki are in an older neighborhood there is a mixture of older homes and businesses as well as newer trendy shops and restaurants. It has a great atmosphere of what country Hawaiian life is life, but is merely a short drive to the larger city life.

The area has many single family homes that are over 5,000 square feet. Many of these homes are owned by families that go back several generations in this area. Most of the homes are located closely together on tree lined streets. The business district is located in a different area to save residents from the noise of the busier part of town.
Kaimuki is home to several types of shops and restaurants. There is a diverse collection ranging from older stores that have made it through the years and are now favorites and new chain stores. There is also the old Rainbow Drive In which has been frequented by multiple generations. The area is also home to several parks that are great for playing any number of sports as well as going on a picnic. There are also seven elementary schools in Kaimuki adding to the great family atmosphere that it already possesses.
Kaimuki is an older neighborhood that gives residents pretty much everything they could ask for in a Hawaiian family lifestyle. It offers a quiet housing neighborhood with a nearby business district. Locals can enjoy many activities such as hiking to Diamond Head or hanging out in the park. There are also local events that take place often. There are also a diverse range of public and private colleges and elementary schools. This area offers pretty much everything anyone could hope for in a local community.
Ewa Real Estate on the leeward coast
Ewa real estate is an area located on the leeward coast of the island Oahu in Hawaii. This is the southernmost area of the island. The word ewa in the Hawaiian language means stray. Legend has it that the Hawaiian gods were playing with stones and they rolled them into the area that is now known as Ewa.
Ewa is 1.4 miles of lush land that is home to approximately 14,650 people. This is the fifteenth largest community in Hawaii. It is only five feet above sea level so a quarter of the land is subdued or composed by the Pacific Ocean. It is located 10 miles west of Honolulu.
The Ewa Plain is divided up into eight main areas: Ewa Beach, Ewa-Gentry, Kapolei, Ka Olina, Leeward Estates, Ocean Pointe, Westloch Estates, and Westloch Fairway. Most of these areas are home to single-family homes, but there are several condominiums and townhouses that are for lease. Housing costs here are some of the highest in the nation, but they do not compare with some of the highest housing areas in Hawaii.

Most occupations in Ewa are a combination of blue and white collar. Many of the jobs are service related. Many sales and office related jobs are also available in the area. Almost five percent of the people who live in Ewa are employed with local military. In fact Ewa is right next to the Pearl Harbor base. The government is also a major employer in this area.
The area is mostly a tourist destination so most attractions have been designed for them, but there are many activities for residents to do as well. Ewa Beach Park is the most common reason people will move here. The Ewa shopping center is an additional bonus, along with the community park, and being in close approximation to the Honolulu Zoo.
Much of Ewa is nautical meaning that it is connected to some form of water whether that is the ocean, streams, valleys, or rivers. This plays a lot into how most people spend their time here. Water front activities or even taking in the local scenery is a common way to spend free time.
This is a great neighborhood for raising a family. There are good quality public schools, low-crime rate, and most of the people that live here are single family homes. Many of these families have children that are of school age. In all of Hawaii, Ewa sits in the top 12.7 percent of family-friendly residential areas.
This is also a wealthy area to live in. It is ranked in the top 15 percent of highest incomes in the United States. The childhood poverty rate is lower than in 64.6 percent of communities in America.
The commute rate for individuals is typically 15 to 30 minutes. This is more time spent driving to work than in many areas in Hawaii, but in comparison with the rest of the United States it is a very small amount of time.
Manoa Real Estate - New England style homes
Manoa is a residential area in the county of Honolulu on the island of Oahu. It is three miles inland and east of Honolulu and around one mile from Waikiki. The neighborhood consists of an entire valley running from Manoa Falls to King Street. Rain is an almost daily occurrence in the area and contributes to the lush area. The valley walls are typically dryer.
Many of the homes were built in the 1960s. There are also condominiums available as well as faculty and student residences because The University of Hawaii at Manoa is located in the area. Recent housing development has been happening on the Diamond Head side of the valley. Most homes are surrounded with huge trees and great views of the mountains. Many of the older homes were built with appealing architecture, but there are still several homes that need modern renovations. People who buy a home in this area to renovate can turn a nice profit.

Manoa real estate probably has the visual that most people have in mind when they think of Hawaii. There is lush greenery everywhere the eye can see. This area gets over 200 inches of rain a year, and the area is what people who have lived in Hawaii grow to love about the islands. The beautiful mountainside and lush green valley has more beauty than the areas around the ocean for many people.
Many people who work in downtown Honolulu choose to live in Manoa. Most love the New England style homes, the average 85 degree weather with 70 percent humidity, and of course the extensive greenery and mature trees. Manoa offers people a calm and relaxed way of life. It is away from the tourist areas in Oahu, but is still in close enough proximity that residents can enjoy the busier side of life whenever they choose.
Aina Haina offers all the essentials someone needs in an area
Aina Haina is an unincorporated town of the city and county of Honolulu. It is a residential area east of Waikiki and Diamond Head. Aina Haina translates to “Hind’s Land” and was named after Robert Hind, the owner of Hind-Clarke Dairy. Aina Haina is within 20 minutes of Waikiki, Ala Moana, and downtown. It also sits between the two more well-known areas of Kahala on the west end and Hawaii Kai on the east side.
Many of the residents here are retired. There is a great amount of younger individuals who have started moving to the area to either start a family or take advantage of the great schools for their kids. There are two excellent private schools and Aina Haina Elementary is consistently ranked among the top five schools in the state.
Most homes in Aina Haina are already occupied, and many of the later generations like to add additions to these older homes or modernize them. The homes range from ones made in the early 1950s to more luxurious modern houses. Some of these rival best homes in Oahu’s more expensive areas.

It is a great neighborhood for walking with wide sidewalks and streets everywhere.
The average home sells for $696,000. Many of these are simple homes from the 1960s. Many of the older homes are now being demolished to make room for newer construction. These newer homes are still typically owned by the same people.
There are parks in the area to offer a number of recreational activities. There are a few tennis courts, basketball court, a baseball field, and even a playground. There is also a great dog park to go for walks, and Kawaikui Beach is a close area to go kayaking or surfing.

Aina Haina has a great personality with small town charm. People here are humble and do not really need the hectic life that comes with living in areas like Waikiki. Many work out of town, but the commute is easy. They get to come home to a great little area that is laid back and has some of the best oceanic views on this side of Oahu. Aina Haina offers all the conveniences in life.
Mililani Real Estate - Living in Mililani
Mililani is located in the city and county of Honolulu on the island Oahu. The land was former plantation fields, but has now been remodeled by a subsidiary of Castle and Cooke to offer affordable housing. In 1986 Mililani was named the “All-American City”, and it is the third wealthiest zip code in all of Hawaii. In 2005 Mililani was named one of the best places to live in the United States.
Living in Mililani
Mililani is only 35 years old and is Oahu’s first planned community. It is now home to 40 to 45 thousand people, which is close to the original goal of 50 thousand. It is located between the two volcanic mountains that occupy the island. People who live here can take the H-2 interstate and get directly to Honolulu in one direction and Wahiawa in the other.
Mililani sits at an elevation of 720 feet above sea level and has a closer proximity to the mountainside. This means it is greener and cooler than the rest of Oahu.
This area consists of two parts, Mililani Town and Mililani Mauka. Mililani Town is the older part of Mililani and Mililani Mauka was built on the other side of the H-2 interstate after it was built.
Most of the homes in Mililani are sold to people already living in the area and that want to upgrade. Around 78 percent of all of the homes are occupied. This town is where much of Hawaii flocks to because of all it has to offer. Residents are offered a variety of options such as recreational facilities, swimming pools, tennis courts, and public parks.
Everything in this town was planned down to the letter including the number of trees, which equals seven per home. There are also no driveways and no parking on the thoroughfares to make the neighborhood safer.
Activities in Mililani
Mililani was not built to be a community center, but there are the commercial activities that people, who live there, can enjoy. The Fun Factory is an amusement park for families to come and enjoy and to let the kids run free. The Mililani Golf Club is home to Oahu’s most scenic courses and is where the pros come to play. Gamers have their very own Play N Trade in Mililani, which offers a variety of video games as well as tournaments. For those that want to enter a more commercial center, Honolulu is a short distance away and provides a variety of restaurants and shopping centers.
