Hawaii is a popular vacation destination for many families and couples on honeymoon. There is much to do in Hawaii. One of the most important activities to do when visiting Hawaii is to enjoy a Luau.

With all the popular Hawaiian Islands, and the many luaus happening on each island, it may be difficult to select the best luaus to attend. When visiting Hawaii, a luau is a most do. You can find a variety of delicious Polynesian food and entertainment in a luau - roasted pig, sweet potatoes, lomi salmon, poi, rice, fish, salads, chicken, coconut custard, and many more specialties. Most luaus have open bars where you can try many tropical and delicious drinks. The luau is usually set near the beach and held during sunset, so you can appreciate the beauty of the sunset and the natural setting. Luaus usually last about three hours. During those hours, you will sample various food items, drinks, and enjoy some live entertainment, music, and typical dances.

You can find many luaus going on at once, but here is a list of the most popular.

Oahu luau - There are several Luaus going on at Waikiki, Oahu. Some of the ones to check out are the Royal Hawaiian Luau located at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. The Alii Luau is located at the Polynesian Cultural Center, north shore. Another one that is popular in Oahu is the Paradise Cove Luau.

On Kauai, some of the most popular luaus are the Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau, along the Wailua River. The

Grand Hyatt Kauai Luau attracts a good crowd too.

In Maui you can find luaus along the Kaanapali Beach - these are the Marriott Resort's Luau, the Hyatt Regency Maui's Drums of the Pacific, and the Royal Lahaina Luau.

On the big Island of Hawaii, there are a few, although not as many as in the other islands. Some to check out are the Island Breeze Luau, the Gathering of the Kings Luau, the Royal Kona Luau, and the Firenesia Luau.

These are some of the most popular Luaus going on at the different Hawaiian islands. Most of the Luaus require reservation. Some of them are held every night, others certain days of the week. In all you will find a variety of delicious foods, drinks and entertainment, as well as colorful festive arrangements that will speak of the rich culture and spirit of the islands. There is no doubt that attending a Luau is one of the most important activities that you can do while on vacation. It is the perfect event to start the night in Hawaii.
