Shopping places in Hawaii

In Hawaii, Shopping is a must do activity like birding, surfing, snorkeling, swimming, sightseeing and other outdoor activities. Whenever you visit Hawaii, don’t get yourself indulge in just visiting beaches, waterfalls and resorts. In fact, you should also pay some attention in visiting the shopping malls, all around Hawaii, wherever you go. Not all, but there are many shopping places where you can find very unique and special items that you can take with you and show to your friends and relatives, as these are not available outside Hawaii. In Hawaii, You will find world-class shopping malls, retail shops and grocery stores everywhere you go .


ALA MOANA on Oahu is a very famous shopping mall where people come for buying their Christmas gifts.
The shopping center contain more than 200 shops offering wide range and varieties of shoes, cosmetics, household goods, aloha shirts, men’s and women’s swimsuits.

You can find most of the international brands in this elegant shopping center. You will find gift shops, fast food supermarket, banks, ATMs and currency changers.
In Honolulu, the Aloha Flea Market is a very special place for children to buy toys, odd goods and eating items. As most of the goods here are for children, nobody gets out of here, empty-handed.

One of the most liked item,here, are Aloha shirts, local brand, which are available at a rate of $75 or above. You can buy these from Kahala mall and Sheraton Waikiki. You can also buy second hand and antique aloha shirts, most of which have been worn by the Hollywood actors in movies, from Bailey’s emporium.

For buying antiques and contemporary ceramics, there is a famous antiques shop “T. Fujii Antiques” where you can buy items ranging from $30 to more than $15000.


For buying Chinese, Indonesian, Thai and other Asian grocery you can visit The ASIAN GROCERY. You will find curries, lotus leaves, chilies, sauces, black pepper and other Asian spices. You will be having the joy of your life when you taste the chocolates in Honolulu Chocolate Company. Here, you will find special Hawaiian chocolates with caramel, truffles, and coffee beans covered in dark black chocolate. There are many flower shops all around the area where you can buy flowers and garlands. The streets of Chinatown are famous for best prices on roses, Floral arrangements and cut flowers, but you have to do some bargaining here. In Oahu, The Academy Shop at the Honolulu academy of Arts and Contemporary Museum Gift Shop are two shops where you can buy lovely jewelry, novelties, books and ethnic fabrics. You can buy artifacts, arts and crafts items from the Contemporary Museum Shop.


For buying surf items the Haleiwa’s surf shops are known to be the best in the world. You will find wet suits, surfboards, mountain bikes, T-shirts, boogie boards, sunglasses, slippers and swimwear for men and women.
If you get a chance to visit Molokai, then don’t forget to enter the Molokai Fine Arts Gallery. This gallery, located in Kaunakakai, features the art work of the best Molokai artists and crafts persons. You will find earrings, necklaces, paintings, carved bowls and handmade jewelry. The west end of Molokai is a windy area and is very suitable for flying kites. You can have a flying kites experience along with bringing the kites made in the Big Wind Kite Factory. In Lanai, the best arts and crafts shopping spots are Heart of Lanai Gallery ,Lanai Art Center and Mike Carroll Gallery. You will find textile paintings, drawings, photographs, woodworking, silk and water color work of the local artists at a reasonable price. Oil paintings of the local lifestyles and traditions are also available.
