The Peninsula in Hawaii Kai is, as you would rightly expect, situated on a peninsula. It is inside a protected harbour and holds 590 units in a residential village also boasting a number of detached houses and condominiums. With five residential areas, The Peninsula is well suited to many different home buyers.

The gated community features a one acre community center and it’s very own private marina that acts as a high point on pedestrian tail maps as well as the roadway.

In total, the project is 46 acres large and has been planned with pedestrians in mind. The cottages are arranged in such a way as to provide the ideal view to residents, with other luxury homes over looking the water.

An interesting combination of different architectural styles reflects the traditional Hawaiian lifestyle with professional craftsmanship while still retaining many cottage characteristics. As you would expect, all homes feature modern amenities.

A pedestrian path winds around the waterfront, providing adequate seating to sit and relax, as well as small parks scattered around to add to the community feel of the village.

The Peninsula offers executive style homes in three different layouts, all resting on the marina. They vary in size from 2,000 to 2,500 square feet, all with high end appliances and fantastic granite countertops.

Homes designed for single families also have three layout options and are located right in the middle of The Peninsula. Interior living spaces range in size from 1,750 to 2,200 square feet, and all are two stories high with the same granite countertops as the executive living areas, as well as top of the line appliances.

If you are interested in cottages, you will be pleased to know that The Peninsula offers 6 options for all of these homes, many of which are only considered attached because of the location of their garages. Many stand at two stories tall, but they are available as a single level dwelling if you do desire. They range in size from 1,330 up to 1,650 square feet and have the same kitchens equipped as all the fine homes in The Peninsula.

Villas are a nice alternative, all of which are two stories and range in size from 1,040 to 16,80 square feet.

All homes built in The Peninsula between 2003 and 2004 are considered condominiums, and as such attract maintenance fees because they are all jointly owned.

These fees range from between $500 to roughly $680, depending on the size, which starts at 1,000 and ends at 1,650 square feet, including a 2 car garage.

The Peninsula boasts local amenities such as a club house, gym, meeting rooms, a pool, numerous recreational areas, BBQs, a jogging run and of course, on site security.

In 2008 15 homes were sold in The Peninsula, ranging from $558,000 all the way up to $810,000 for one of the larger residences.
