Waikele Center is an open-air shopping center situated in the Waikele area. The open-air shopping center covers an area of about 521,000 square foot. There is a large range of clothing you can buy at Waikele including t-shirts, shoes, and etc. You will be able to buy items such as furniture, house ware, and accessories at the shops in Waikele.
The town also has a fire station and elementary school. There are two parks that provide places for people to stroll and have picnic. The two parks are under the administration of the County of Honolulu. Waikele has a lush green landscape. The Lumiauau Street is a popular street in Waikele where you can observe the natural gas lamps. It is estimated that there is about 58 natural gas lamps at the Lumiauau Street. The most distinguish features of the Waikele neighborhood is the banyan trees with lollipop shape. Every day, the guards will patrol the residential area to enforce the security. Many people have volunteered to remove graffiti on the wall and beautify the place.
Waikele used to has many sugar cane fields. Many sugar cane fields were established during the sugar plantation era. There are many public transportations that tourists can hire to travel around the Waikele area.
