Hawaii is a beautiful place to visit and to live. Honolulu has some of the best attractions in the country and possibly even the world for people to go visit and explore. There are historical sites as well as beautiful natural wonders that will amaze just about anyone. Whether a person is a person who travels to relax or a person who travels to explore there is certainly no lack of options for either type of traveller on this Hawaiian island of Honolulu. There are a few must see sites that are in very close proximity to the city of Honolulu and should definitely be visited upon arrival on this majestic Hawaiian island.

Diamond Head is a gigantic crater about five miles from the city center in Honolulu. This is a truly beautiful site to behold for anyone lucky enough to get there. There is the option to hike Diamond Head and this is strongly recommended as the view from the top coupled with the actual hiking itself is something that cannot be rivaled in excellence. The hike is certainly a test in athletic durability and should not be done if a person is not in good physical shape, but if a person finds himself willing and able to do the hike, it is certainly worth while and this person will not regret that decision.

Manoa Falls is still another beautiful present that nature has left for mankind to marvel at in Hawaii. This beautiful waterfall is located about a mile from the city center in Honolulu. A person wishing to view this marvelous one hundred foot waterfall would have to take an hour long hike, which is absolutely worth it, as the hike itself is an experience and then at the end there is a beautiful waterfall.

For the more politically minded traveller's there is the opportunity to see the historic Honolulu city hall that is located in the city center. This is a beautiful building and would definitely be a great place for those interested in politics and history to visit.

There is also the site of USS Arizona Memorial, which is about seven miles from the city center. Once again, for history buffs this is a must see. This is seeped with history and bound to bring out emotions in anyone who remembers the terrible attacks on Pearl Harbor during World War II.

Honolulu has so much to offer for anyone looking to visit. It is fairly centrally located and a vast array of different landmarks and historical wonders can be seen and travelled to easily once a person is on the island.
