Running from east to west the city stretches from Diamond Head to the Pearl Harbor and is about 12 miles wide and 26 miles long. The city has seven hills, which flow, down 7 streams of water giving it a cool and calm look. The neighboring areas of Kai, Kama’aina, and Manoa are also really quiet and surround the Mamala Bay area of the city. The downtown region of Honolulu has Asians as a major part of the community that settled here way back in the 1850’s.
Usually people like to establish their own business rather than working for someone and so the Asians started many new businesses, which brought in huge amount of cash and prosperity to the state. The people then named the business area as Chinatown, which got destroyed due to a fire between 1886 and 1900. However the area was rebuild and it became a popular tourist spot wherein people could see the eye-catching flowers and some of the most exclusive spices and many decorative items.
