Honolulu has many chapels and churches. Most of the churches have interesting historical backgrounds. All the churches offer impressive architecture styles. The churches hold the Sunday services regularly. People with all kinds of religion backgrounds are welcomed to visit the churches.

The two churches in Honolulu are Kawaiahao Church and St. Augustine Church. The history of Kawaiahao Church can be traced back to the 1830s. It is one of the first churches that the missionary built in Honolulu. It is an entry in the National Register of Historic Buildings list. There are many attractions nearby to Kawaiahao Church. The special feature of Kawaiahao Church is that it is built from coral blocks. The imposing architecture of the church is impressive. You can take part in the guided tour if you want to explore the church. There is a portrait gallery in the church. The church is open for public visitation from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. every weekday. On Sunday, the church is open from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Kawaiahao Church is located on Punchbowl Street.

St. Augustine Church is a church built during the 19th century.  It was built in 1854 and has been around for more than one century. Several Sacred Hearts priests and brothers founded the church. You can observe the St. Augustine Church from a distance. Unlike other buildings in the surrounding region, it has a traditional architecture. The building has a picturesque architecture. The interior is decorated with stained glass windows and period features. There is a museum in the St. Augustine Church. Seasonal events are often held at the St. Augustine Church. St. Augustine Church is open from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. St. Augustine Church is located at Ohua Avenue. St. Augustine Church is an integral part of the community in Honolulu. It offers hot afternoon meal for people who come to visit the church.
