What are the Attractions nearby to Honolulu?

Honolulu has an extensive network of transportation so it is easy to travel to other nearby places. Honolulu has many nearby attractions such as Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorial, Kailua Beach Park, Kualoa Regional Park and Waimea Bay. Diamond Head is located on the southeastern side of Honolulu. The crater is already extinct so it is unlikely that it will erupt. There is a long trail you can follow to reach the summit of Diamond Head. As you travel on the Diamond Head trail, you will climb up several stairs and pass through a tunnel. The last lookout point, which you have to climb, has a spiral staircase. Diamond Head is open from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Hanauma Bay is a horseshoe bay that offers premium snorkeling spot. The water in Hanauma Bay is crystal clear. You can carry out all kinds of activities including swimming and sunbathing activities. Hanauma Bay has a visitor center. The visitor center offers tourist information on marine life and ocean tide information. The Pearl Harbor is the site where the WWII started. Pearl Harbor gets its name from the stocks of pearl oysters in the ocean. It was a target of the Japanese bomber in 1941. At the harbor, you will find the USS Arizona Memorial. There is also a visitor center that houses a museum and theater. The USS Arizona Memorial is a reminder for the soldiers who died when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese bombing in 1941. The memorial is located in a sunken vessel.

Kailua Beach Park is located on the northeastern side of Honolulu. Kailua Beach is a great windsurfing sport. It receives constant wind. It offers a variety of facilities. You can rent kayak from the local rental center and explore the ocean. If you want to visit Kailua Beach Park, you should visit it during the weekdays. During the weekdays, the beach will be less crowded. Kualoa Regional Park is a park situated north to the Kaneohe Bay. It is a perfect picnicking spot because it has a large green field. It is equipped with basic amenities. There are many refreshments you can purchase at the beach park. Waimea Bay is a great surfing site during the winter season. It was made popular by the Beach Boys. The Waimea Bay is about 1 km long. There are many trees and picnic tables at the Waimea beach so it is a good picnicking sport.
