You and your children should drink enough water before arriving at the Makaha Beach so that you won’t be dehydrated. You can bring a beach umbrella to protect yourself from the sun. You can apply an ultraviolet lotion that has SPF of 15. You should reapply the sun lotion every 2 hours. The beach is never crowded with too many people. During the weekends, the local people like to come to the beach to relax. A number of facilities can be found at the beach including picnic tables, restrooms and showers.
If you are coming from Waikiki, you should take the Ala Wai Boulevard. While traveling on the Ala Wai Boulevard, you can turn into the Kalakaua Avenue. After that, you need to turn into PIikoi St. and Lunalilo St. If you continue traveling at Farrington Highway, you should reach the Makaha town. If you don’t want to travel by car, you can take the city bus. The city bus departs from the Ala Moana Shopping Center at Honolulu.
