Guide to Car Rental in Waikiki

Waikiki has a good public transportation, as it is not well developed like other islands in Hawaii. If you want to explore Waikiki and the surrounding regions, you need a car. Since you are a tourist at Waikiki, you have to rent a jeep or four-wheel drive vehicle from the local car rental center. Taxis can be hired from different locations in Waikiki. However, it is not easy to hire a taxi in Waikiki. Besides, you can also take bus to different destinations in Waikiki. Most bus drivers will charge the passengers $1 for the bus fare. If you want to travel by bus for several days, you can get a pass for about $25 per month. If you don’t want to spend money when traveling around, you can hitch hike other people’s vehicle. However, hitch hiking can be dangerous because you are taking a ride in a stranger’s vehicle. It is recommended that you rent a vehicle instead of choosing other transportation modes.

There are several car rental centers in Waikiki. The car rental cost varies from different car rentals. The average cost of renting a car is about $150 to a few thousand dollars per week. The amount you are charged for the car rental fee depends on which type of car you choose. If you rent an economy car, you only have to pay under $200 per week. If you rent a luxury car, you have to spend a few thousand dollars. The petrol price in Waikiki is much more expensive than on the U.S. continent. It costs twice as much as the petrol in the U.S. continent. Some roads Waikiki are not straight. They are usually winding so you have to be careful when driving in Waikiki. The type of vehicle you choose depends on where you are going to travel. For example, if you are traveling in the town, you should get a convertible.

You can rent a vehicle through the car rental center. If you don’t want to rent a car from the car rental center, you can rent it from a third party agency. The benefit of renting a car through the third party agency is that you will get discounted rate. You can get a lower rate by negotiating with the third party car rental agency. There are a few branded car rental companies in Waikiki. Some of the top car rental companies in Waikiki include Alamo, Hertz, Enterprise, Thrifty and etc. The rates of these car rental companies are almost the same.
