A community full of single or multi-family dwellings located in Waipahu, Village Park also has a number of townhomes. Village Park is home to many historical pieces left from the Plantation Era; the architecture is particularly influenced by this time period, and it has been left intact to educate about the cultural significance of the time. This area is run as a living history museum called the Hawaiian Plantation Village; it's meant to celebrate the period in which sugarcane changed the scope of Hawaiian history. Waipahu has plenty of places to shop, as well as a number of eateries and purveyors of many different services; some of the area's best known shopping centers include Westgate Shopping Center, Waipahu Shopping Village, Waipahu Shopping Plaza, and Waipahu Town Center.

For the residents who are interested in outdoor activities, Waipahu is home to many lovely parks, such as the Honowai Neighborhood Park, Waipahu Field, or the Waipahu Cultural Garden. Sports fans can catch a minor league baseball game at Hans L'Orange Park, home to the West Oahu CaneFires. Children attend one of the five elementary schools that are part of the Waipahu School System, and then move on to the Waipahu Intermediate School and the Waipahu High School. There's also a charter school in the area for parents who wish to privately educate their children; it's called Hawaii Tech Academy.
