The trade wind in the area is not so strong so it won’t be too windy.

Hawaii Loa Ridge District
Hawaii Loa Ridge, as prestigious as it is exclusive, is an up market gated community made up of grand homes and allowing residents access to community tennis courts and a clubhouse. Most of these homes have views of the sea that are second to none, as well as overlooking Koko Head crater towards the east and Diamond Head crater in the west. If you plan on building a custom home here you will need to first receive the permission of the review board, as well as meet their minimum requirements. Inside the gated community is, amazingly, another even more exclusive gated community known as "The Pointe". They are located to the west and boast part ownership of the posh Pointe Club clubhouse.

Hawaii Kai / Portlock
This is a planned community, started in the mid 1960s by the well-known American industrialist, Henry Kaiser. Although it was initially thought of as a country area for the farmers, it has since become one of the most prestigious suburbs in all of Oahu. The homes here are as different and diverse as their prices tags, and as such attract an equally diverse range of residents to the area. The locals here enjoy easy access to downtown Honolulu, which is about 12 miles away when taking the H 1 Freeway. It's also nearby to Kaimuki and Kahala. The Hawaii Kai also boasts a large number of golf courses, beaches, tennis courts, restaurants and even movie theaters, as well as other neighborhood necessities such as dry cleaners, supermarkets, fitness centers, medical facilities and parks and playgrounds, so no one here has to venture far from home to accommodate their daily needs. Being a very green area with wider than average streets, bike riding and jogging is a regular recreational activity for residents of the area, as well as surfing at Sandy Beach. The large range of price tags makes it a suitable location to relocate for everyone looking for that tropical change try Hawaii Kai real estate.
