The income per capita is about $24,000. There are many public schools in Mililani so you should not worry about your children’s education after relocating here. There are several preschools and elementary schools in Mililani. Hanalani Schools is a private school that offers preschool to 12th grade education.

Mililani was originally a plantation field owned by Castle & Cookie. Castle & Cookie planned about the development of the field during the early 1960s. The purpose of carrying out the development project is to convert Mililani Town into a satellite city. Professional architects were hired to satisfy the demands for housing in Oahu. The first development project was completed within a few years. Soon, the first houses of the housing project were put on sale in the market on the 3rd of June 1968. In 1986, Mililani is given the title All America City. Mililani is the sole residential community to get this recognition. High-end homes can be found in Mililani. The wealthiest homes are located in the region with the zip code 9679. Most of the development projects in Mililani are bedroom communities. There are many amenities in Mililani such as shopping malls, schools, parks and golf clubs.

Every now and then, the homeowners in Mililani have to pay their dues to the Mililani Town Association. Mililani Town Association is responsible for enforcing the standards for the homes. They offer recreational facilities to the people so that they can enjoy a more comfortable life. There is a golf club called Mililani Golf Club. The Mililani Golf Club covers an area of 6,455 yard. The Mililani Technology Park is located nearby to Mililani. Mililani consists of two portions including Mililani Town and Mililani Mauka. Mililani Mauka is located east to the Mililani. Mililani Town is located to the west of Mililani. The Mililani Mauka is a newer region. There is another region called Launani Valley in Mililani. Launani Valley is a secluded master planned community situated beneath the Mililani Tech Park. Town homes and single-family units can be found in Mililani.

Royal Kunia District

The Royal Kunia District is the most recently community to be established within the region and has an 18 hold golf course as well as a clubhouse, which fills up a substantial area of the district and provides great opportunities for those seeking rest and relaxation. A subdivision known as The Vistas has a whole range of homes made specifically to enjoy their tropical surroundings, and as such every home in the area has a view of mountains, the ocean or the local ravines. Townhouses in the area are all situated around greenery filled communal courtyards, so as to create a wonderfully warm community feel.

Mililani District

Mililani District was Oahu's first master planned district, and homes here first went on sale in 1967; it was also the first district in Oahu to offer affordable housing for those in lower income brackets. The area has a huge variety of accommodations - for the afore mentioned lower income families there are condominiums and smaller townhouses, while at the higher end of the scale one can find expensive, big, executive style family houses. The lifestyle here has all the modern conveniences one would expect to find in a larger and more developed area, including shopping malls, movie megaplexes, a golf course and seven recreational centers, as well as more recent additions such as smaller supermarkets and grocers, medical centers and restaurants. This is an ideal place for a young family looking for a fabulous atmosphere on a reasonable budget.
