Guide to Kailua Beach Park

Kailua Beach Park is a popular sandy beach on Oahu. It is once rated as the best beach in the world. It is a good site for carrying out recreational activities such as swimming, snorkeling and etc. The beach is well known as a world-class surfing spot. Beginner and advanced surfers can come to the Kailua Beach to perform surfing activities. There are a number of sports gear rental shops in Kailua town. If you are going kayaking, be sure that you equip yourself with a personal flotation device (PDF).

Kailua Beach Park is quipped with several facilities. Some of the facilities you can find at the park include phones, showers, restrooms and etc. It is recommended that you only swim in lifeguarded areas. There are tall palm trees along the Kailua beach. The turquoise water is crystal clear so you should be able to see the marine lives underneath. The local and foreign people visit the beach. Because it is a popular beach, there will be many people coming every day. As a world class windsurfing spot, you will find many shops offering rental of surfing gears to people. Both adults and children will enjoy the beach. Usually, the water is calm and there is no big wave. Sometimes, the wave can get tall and dangerous so you need to be careful. You can rent a kayak and take a boat trip to the Flat Island. The water near the Flat Island has many green sea turtles. You can also observe rare creatures in the water near the Flat Island. If you want to explore the underwater creatures, you should visit the Kailua Beach during the summer season.

The beach is not subject to any dangerous weather condition. In the middle of the Kailua Beach Park, there is a pond. If you are bringing your children, you should monitor their activities. There are lifeguards supervising the people at the beach. However, it is your responsibility to monitor your children. Sometime, the Portuguese man of war jellyfish will swarm together on the surface of the beach. If there are Portuguese men of war jellyfishes, the lifeguard will put a special sign to inform the beach goers. You should take heed of the warning on these signs and stay away from the water. If you accidentally get stung, you should immediately seek the help of the lifeguard.
