You should also take the time out in order to improve the interior of your home before you consider selling it. The same way you would like a buyer to feel at home as they walk up to the front door of your house, a buyer should also feel at home upon entering in the front door of your house.

- Clean, either professionally or on your own, the carpets of your home with a fragrant soap.
- Wax and clean any tile floors in your home. If you can invest the money, you can also consider refinishing any tile or linoleum floors in your home.
- Remove all spider webs and cobwebs from the ceilings and other hidden crevices in your home.
- If you have pets, be sure to clean their living quarters as well as they them and remove any traces of odor from your home.
- Clean out your closets as well as organize any close inside of your closets. Cleaning out your closets means removing clutter, boxes, and any other items that may cause it to look cluttered.
- Organize your basement, garage and/or attic before showing your home. This may require you to get rid of old and unnecessary junk in order to show off the clean and tidy area.
- Clean all Windows in your home including those in your bathroom and kitchen.

Before you can sell your home, make a checklist of any items in your home such as broken equipment, broken furniture, or broken appliances. A few items to keep in mind include:

- Toilets

Once you have gone through this checklist complete a final run through of your home to ensure that is in its best condition before you allow it to be available for an open house.
